Space
The next room we explored was the space room. This included activities and videos that taught about the universe. One of the activities was a machine that shot metal ball into sand to show creation of craters. This was in an air tight vacumm to simmulate the moons surface, so it would be more accurate. Another activity of the space room had multiple cans with different masses. Each of these represented the weight of an average soup can while on different planets and moons. For example, the Moon had the lightest can because of its low gravity and Jupiter was the heaviest, because of its high gravity. There were also multiple videos that talked about different aspects of our universe. Some of these videos described black holes and the different planets in our solar system. Also, there was a small air hokey table with planet shaped boards. This showed the power of inertia, an object’s inertia causes it to continue moving the way it is moving unless it is acted upon by an outside force to change its motion, from 8.1. |
